Show us a picture of you when you were a baby.

Not really a baby, but I think it counts.
Show us your favorite winter food.
These are pasteles. They are basically... boiled plantain mass stuffed with chicken. (? how hard is to translate pasteles!!) They are absolutely delicious and these were even more because we made them (my family and me) in my grandma's house with her supervision, and she makes (of course) the pasteles in the universe. If you ever find a place where they sell Puerto Rican food, try them. That and alcapurrias :o)
Show us a musical instrument.
I swear I'm being objective when I say my father plays the cuatro better than anyone I've heard. The cuatro is our national instrument (please scroll for the Cuatros of Puerto Rico).
I've had the pleasure of growing up serenaded by the sound of this.

Book: What book are you most ashamed you haven't read?
Submitted by Byrne.
I couldn’t left this unanswered because maybe the confession will help. I don’t know what it would help but whatever.
I am a huge Isabel Allende fan, I have read almost everything she’s done, I don’t own everything because I read a lot of her when I was in college and in got easily bored between classes. I don’t feel ashamed of not reading some things like Afrodita or Hija de la Fortuna (not because I think they are bad, but because I haven’t felt like having that kind of read) but I think it’s some sort of insult that I haven’t read La Casa de los Espíritus (House of Spiritis) because it was THE book of her career. It’s THE book. I have no excuse, which is worst, except that it IS really long and I’ve always found myself among other long reads and I’ve thought “well, it’s not like it’s going to disappear or something… I can always read it LATER.” And so I’ve just always put it aside to read other things first. Other things that are more fun maybe. Oh, and also I’ve always thought that at some point it’s bound to get boring because I already saw the movie and I know what happens, although I know that I shouldn’t feel that way because I saw the first Harry Potter before reading the book and it was a completely different experience, I just can’t seem to shrug that off.
There.
